"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not unto men." -Colossians 3:23

Jail Ministry

Jail Ministry is very different than the nursing home room, the hospital room, bible study room, drum and guitar room (lessons).  You are locked up face to face with your brother or sister in Christ.  We minister on five things: experiencing Jesus, God as a  mountain mover, taking every step, learning a game plan, and learning the rules.  Mark 11:23 says, "For verily I say unto you, that whosoever shall say unto this mountain, be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come unto pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith."

  • There is life in Jesus.

  • God will move your mountains and give you a second chance in life.

  • The mountains that he does not move, he will walk with you every step of the way.

  • You need a game plan so once you are released, you won't be back in jail again.

  • You must learn the rules of life and apply them accordingly.

Mentorship

Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where no counsel is, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety."

  • Never get all your answers from one person.

  • Observation is a great teacher.

  • Experience is a teacher of life as well.

  • You must trust the God in people.

  • You must be willing to try even if you don't succeed.

Music Therapy / Acoustic Guitar

Psalm 95:1-2 states, "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation.  Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song."

  • Singing soothes your soul.

  • Music Calms your fears.

  • Music brings you gladness.

  • Singing and praising God shows your gratitude.

  • Worship is like sitting around a warm campfire.

          Hospital Visits / Reaching Out

Matthew 25:34-36 says, "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.  For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, i was a stranger and you invited me in.  i needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, i was in prison and you came to visit me."

We are told to:

  • Be concerned about God's people

  • Feed the hungry

  • House the homeless

  • Clothe the naked

  • Visit the sick

  • Visit those in prison

Community Outreach

Luke 10:33-35 states, "But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, and went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own breast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.  And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host and said unto him, take care of him; and whotsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee."

  • Be a giver of life; give your time and support to your town.

  • Give back to your community when it is necessary.

  • Give to people who cannot repay you.

  • Give of yourself and not boast about it.

  • Do for others as though you were doing it for the Lord.

Nursing Home Ministry

Psalm 71:17 says, "Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come."

  • We need to show love and be concerned about our senior residents.

  • Treat them like they are one of us.

  • Give them a message of salvation, hope, and love.

  • God will still provide and meet their everyday needs.

  • We must increase their quality of life.  They too are special.

  • We must show them that we are glad to see, visit, and spend time with them.

  • We also must give thanks and acknowledge the employees and the whole staff there for their dedication.
